Luxury SUV Comparison: Cadillac Escalade IQ vs. Escalade-V

Power & Performance 

As mentioned above, the Cadillac Escalade IQ is an EV with a battery capacity of over 200 kWh. It has a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain that generates 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. It also accelerates from 0 to 60 MPH in under 5 seconds. Most importantly, it has an estimated driving range of 460 miles between charging sessions, putting it firmly in the running as an EV with the longest range. 

Meanwhile, the Cadillac Escalade-V is a gas-powered SUV with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that’s built by hand. This engine generates an astonishing 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, which is powerful, but not quite as powerful as the Escalade IQ. However, the Escalade-V does go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds, which is very similar to the Escalade IQ’s acceleration levels.  

While the Escalade IQ may have more sheer power, the Escalade-V has lots of extra features that improve its performance. These features include six different driving modes (Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice, My Mode, V-Mode, and Tow/Haul), Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, and a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds. 

Interior Design Highlights 

Both Escalades are 3-row SUVs that fit up to 7 passengers in their interiors. They both also have rear-seat entertainment options and available second-row captain’s chairs, making them both ideal for family road trips. Each one also has 16-way power heated and ventilated seats with lumbar massage, though they’re located in the front seats in the Escalade-V and in the front and second-row seats in the Escalade IQ. Overall, these two SUVs’ interior design highlights are quite similar to one another, and they both embody the peak of luxury. 

Cargo Space 

These SUVs do have their differences when it comes to the amount of cargo space each one offers, although both have far more interior space than the average SUV. 

The Escalade IQ has a solid amount of cargo space, with up to 119.1 cubic feet behind the first row, 69.1 cubic feet behind the second row, 23.6 cubic feet behind the third row, and 12.2 cubic feet of cargo space in its front eTrunk. 

The Escalade-V has a similar amount of cargo space, but it’s distributed a bit differently, with 120.5 cubic feet of it behind the first row, 72.9 cubic feet behind the second row, and 25.5 cubic feet behind the third row. Of course, since it has a big ole gas engine under the hood, it doesn’t have an eTrunk.
